Rochester Rotary Sunshine Campus
Since 1922, Rochester Rotary Sunshine Campus has provided a summer camp where children with disabilities can enjoy the fun of being kids without any barriers. Today, this 157-acre, fully accessible residential summer camp in Rush, New York, provides fun for thousands of children with disabilities and their families. Every year, more than 2,500 kids ages 7-21 get the chance to enjoy a camping experience that they can’t get anywhere else.
State-of-the-art, inclusive experiences for campers include a rock-climbing wall, nature trails, a zipline through the woods, a sensory center, treehouses, swimming, music, an archery course, and many other sports.
With the opening of the new Miracle playground on campus, the children were excited to have a play space that all of their camp friends can enjoy together. The playground incorporates several top Miracle inclusive products, including the wheelchair-accessible Inclusive Whirl and Alta Glide Inclusive Glider, the tactile-engaging movement of the Roller Slide, the supportive Inclusive Swing Seat, and interactive play panels that provide a variety of multi-sensory experiences.
